Show Parent-teacher confabs scheduled at Viewmont Fall parent-teacher conferences will be held at Viewmont High School Tuesday, Nov. 13 and Wednesday, Nov. 14, it was announced an-nounced by Principal Paul Waite. School will be dismissed at 12:20 p.m. on these two days as well as on Thursday, Nov. 15, although no conferences will be held Thursday, he noted. Waite emphasized that the expanded conference schedule is being held to better accommodate parents, especially those who are working parents. Conferences will be held from 1-3 p.m. and from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday. On Wednesday sessions will be conducted between 1-3 p.m. Waite said there will be special em- phasis placed on all teachers to make every effort to be in attendance atten-dance for the entire time of the conference con-ference session, teachers will make an attempt to limit the length of each session so that there will be adequate time for all parents, teachers will be better prepared to answer all questions asked by parents, and teachers will strive to make the conferences a positive and productive experience. Special emphasis will also be placed on teachers to explain tp parents the reasons for placement of students in certain classes, homework expected of students, how grades are detenruried, individual in-dividual behavior of students in class, frequency of tests and quizzes, what textbooks are being used, what outside work is being required, whether students are working to their ability, and how parents and teachers can best help individual students. |
