Show Program applications available Applications for participation in the GiftedTalented Satellite Program Pro-gram during the 1991-92 school year may be obtained from the principal prin-cipal at each neighborhood elementary elemen-tary school beginning Monday, Nov. 5. Completed applications will be accepted by the principal until Dec. 7. Under the direction of Gail Bock, the program began in 1984 and provides pro-vides a separate, full-time programs for 420 students at four locations. Classes are anticipated for the following grades at these schools: Syracuse: Cook Elementary, third, fourth, fifth and sixth grades. Kaysville: Morgan Elementary, fourth, fifth and sixth grades. Bountiful: Valley View Elementary, Elemen-tary, fourth, fifth and sixth grades. Bountiful: Washington Elementary, Elemen-tary, third, fourth, fifth and sixih grades. The Satellite program seems to work best for those students who consistently meet andor surpass the teacher's expectations and complete their work much faster than then-peers. then-peers. Students with academic ability, abil-ity, motivation for learning and developed de-veloped thinking skills may be interested in-terested in the program. When a student is enrolled in the Satellite Program, the parent or guardian is responsible for providing pro-viding transportation to the satellite location. Parents also agree to give flexible cooperative time during the school year. State funding is provided for identification of students, textbooks and special training for teachers. All teachers in this program have earned a Gifted and Talented endorsement en-dorsement through the state certification cer-tification office.
