Show 0 Jenks named Hansen 's office chief Congressman Jim Hansen announced that he has named Peter Jenks to replace Howard Rigtrup as state director for his Utah office operations. Rigtrup, state director di-rector since Hansen took office in 1981, has recently accepted a position as deputy lieutenant governor with primary responsibility of overseeing state and federal election laws. Congressman Hansen also announced that he has elevated Kathleen Clarke to the position of executive assistant with the responsibility of overseeing district constituent and legislative services. Hansen stated, 'Howard has been a dedicated and trusted friend and colleague for many years. L and everyone else in this office, will miss his extensive knowledge and abilities and are sorry to see him leave. "However, the dedication of this office in providing the very best in service to the people of the First Congressional Con-gressional District will be reinforced by the appoint- ment of Peter Jenks to direct my Utah operations and Kathleen Clarke to manage constituent and legislative activities,' continued Hansen. Previously, Jenks had served as special assistant to the congressman, with primary responsibilities in the areas of press, special projects, and district scheduling. He also served as Hansen's campaign finance director in 1986 and managed the congressman's campaigns in 1988 and 1990. Jenks received his bachelor's degree in 1981 from George Washington University, and his master's of business administration degree in 1983 from the University Uni-versity of Wisconsin-Madison. Clarke has been serving in Congressman Hansen's Ogden office as director of constituent services. She is a graduate of Utah State University and attended Brigham Young University Law School. Kathleen had previously served on the staff of former Sen. Wallace Bennett. |
