The Bountiful High senior successfully defended her 3A state swim titles last weekend at BYU in the 200 IM and 100 breaststroke. Despite suffering a cracked wrist earlier in the season, Waterbury shattered her own state record in the IM event. Waterbury 's winning time of 2:11.75 erased her previous clocking of 2:12.08. In ad-, ad-, dition, she fell just one-quarter of a second away from establishing a new state best in the breaststroke. "I'm not surprised. She's worked work-ed hard and deserves it," said Bountiful coach Jack Senninger. - "She wasn't going to let anything stand in her way. She impressed me with her courage to swim with pain." Waterbury's efforts earned her a second-consecutive top female swimmer award. Bountiful finished 14th in the competition with 50 points. Cedar City led the field with 325. Also scoring for the Lady Braves was the 200 freestyle and medley relay teams. The squads finished 13th and 15th, respectively.
