Show ft I f L i i, I s - - , - 1 0 I f s f m v - - 1 v - 1 "' 1 1 - i I " - t , 1 "HUG ME" FUDGE Candies always take the spotlight on Valentine's Day, and this fudge is easy to prepare in a microwave. 1 cup sugar Vi cup light or dark corn syrup Vk cup milk ; V cup butter or margarine ! 12 large marshmallows or Wi cups miniature marshmallows 1 package (12 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips 1 teaspoon vanilla VA cups coarsely chopped walnuts 1 cup coarsely chopped dried cherries (or chopped maraschino cherries) Lightly grease an 8-inch square pan. In 2-quart microwavable bowl combine sugar, corn syrup and milk. Top with butter. Microwave on HIGH (100) 5 minutes; stir to dissolve sugar. Add marshmallows. Microwave on HIGH (100) 5 minutes. Stir in chocolate until melted. Stir in vanilla, walnuts and cherries. Pour into prepared pan. Refrigerate 1 hour or until firm; cut into squares. Makes 25 squares. Note: Dried cherries are available at gourmet and specialty stores. If not available, maraschino cherries are an excellent substitute. Bake in 350F oven 20 to 25 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool in pans 5 minutes. Remove; cool completely on wire rack. Store in tightly covered container.
