Show Mollie May Martin 'WW' ; jj,y , ; I ..... - BOUNTIFUL Mollie May Hilbum Martin, 93, passed away Feb. 5, 1989. . . ' She was born in Hill County, Tex., Jan. 2, 1896, a daughter, of Mack Duffy and Sarah Williams Hilbum, the seventh of 11 children. She left school in the eighth grade to care for younger siblings and work in the farm fields of Texas. She married William Henry Martin Mar-tin on Oct 18, 1914 and moved to Electra, Texas. She bore four chil-' dren: Lottie Faye, who died very 1 young of diphtheria; Archie Francis , Martin, Artie Lee Martin, and Cora Lee Martin. . , - , , On Dec. 13. 1946 Mollic's husband hus-band died suddenly of a heart attack; at-tack; In June, 1954 Mollie's son, .Artie, died, tragically. In 1985 her ; son Archie died of a stroke. ' .' , ; Mollie lived in Texas for 61 .. years, Southern California for one year, and Bountiful for 31 years. She was a charter member of the First Baptist Church of Bountiful , Tor 30 years. She knew and loved all children, and became known as " the "candy lady" because she always al-ways had a purse full of candy on r Sundays fe the cWldren'- p -' Surviving are her daughter and husband, Cora Lee and Frank Hartley; Hart-ley; daughter-in-law, Rena Martin; three grandsons and two granddaughters; grand-daughters; two great-grandsons and : two great-granddaughters.
