Results also left Davis and. . Viewmont eliminated from the playoff race. Because the playoff possibilities were still so undecided as of Monday afternoon (our press deadline), here's a recap of last week's action. Look for results of the state tournament in next week's Clipper (Monday's games). THURSDAY'S GAMES DAVIS 52 WOODS CROSS 50 In Kaysville, the Darts kept hopes alive for a fast finish with . ; iheir second win of the year over the Wildcats. Wosds Cross led most of the way, with a 15-10 advantage ad-vantage after one quarter, a 29-25 lead at the half and a 41-38 leaoen-tcring leaoen-tcring the fourth period. , - The Darts caught up, and took the lead in the final two minutes. Chad Rawlings pulled the Wildcats back with a three-pointer at the 30 second se-cond mark, but the Darts salted it - away when Brad Gardner sank four ; ; free throws in the final minute. Woods Cross did get a final shot at the buzzer, but it didn't fall. Gardner led the way for Davis with 15 points, Jon Rhodes added 13 and Dave Newby 12. For Woods Cross, Todd Fuller led things with 15. points, Chad. Rawlings added 11 and Dave Simon had 10.' ' EAST 58 BOUNTIFUL 50 At Bountiful, the Leopards captured cap-tured the region title with a win over the Braves, who fell into a three-way tie for, second with Woods Cross and Highland after losing their third straight. Bountiful built a 28-21 halftime lead, but the Leopards blew by, in the second half as David Snow caught fire. Snow scored 20 points, including three three-pointers, while Jermaine Haliburton added 12 and Justin Spencer 11. Bountiful was paced by its inside men, as Steve Wilkinson led scorers again with 14 and Brandon O'Brien added 12. Troy Fuller chipped in 10 for the Braves. East hit 23 of 32 free throws, while Bountiful made just 12 trips to the line, hitting four shots. ' HIGHLAND 60 VIEWMONT 58 At Highland, junior Kris Hicks hit a jumper with one second left to give the Rams a narrow win over Viewmont. . It marked ; the. third straight game that Hicks, who transferred trans-ferred out of the Woods Cross area last year, has won a game for the Rams. , ' , This game was close all the way, Highland taking a 12-9 lead in the first quarter, then holding that same three-point lead entering the final period. ' HIGHLAND 61 BOUNTIFUL 59 Z At Highland, the Rams got 32 points from Kris Hicks,' former county resident, as they upset the , Braves, knocking Bountiful out of first place at that time. . The Rams held off a Bountiful , - charge in the final period for the : win, aided by 15 of 20 free throws compared to just eight of 17 for the ' Braves. Hicks hit 11 field goals, including in-cluding three three-pointers to lead the Rams. Bountiful was led by Steve Wilkinson with 18 and both Troy Fuller and Matt Walton with ; nine apiece. ; .' - ;- -; EAST 68 DAVIS 53 At East, the Leopards pulled into ' first place with a win over Davis, as Jermaine Haliburton scored 25, Matt Henniger IS and Mark Wan-kierll. Wan-kierll. East pulled away from the Darts . in the third period, scoring 30 points 'to 19 for Davis. The Leopards were in control most of the way. .
