Let us help you solve it' ' , the Davis County School District has estab-f lished task forces on an elementary schoolcommunity level in each . area of the county that is having a problem with high enrollment and no space.: -;U' Following the pattern used by the Layton City Elementary Task Force which involved a representation from all elementary schools in Lay-ton, Lay-ton, these smaller task forces are . now working to develop the best educational system for their situation. situa-tion. I The Layton task force has given its recommendation to the Board of Education (see related story). Other - reports will follow quickly so that the recommended programs can be implemented . for . the .1989-90 school year. C ' : Seven schools in the Bountiful area are studying growth problems . and low enrollment problems in their area. The focus is divided between be-tween the large enrollment at Boul-ton Boul-ton Elementary which is on an extended ex-tended day schedule and junior high problems associated with a bal- anced enrollment at Mueller Park t and South Davis Junior Highs. Dr. Olson noted the task force at West Clinton involves West Point Elementary and a boundary change seems to be the best solution. West Point Elementary is using three portable por-table classrooms. At Columbia Elementary in Kaysville, the task force isooking at three options: traditional scheduling, schedul-ing, .extended day and year-round . school. Area director, Dr. Nancy Fleming, indicated the task force recommendations should be ready ,!Very soon so that implementation . can take place next year.
