BLODGETT ' , FARMJNGTON Although the , bid was slightly higher than the en-' en-' gineer's estimate, 'Davis County Commissioners gladly accepted a" low bid of $75345 for construction of a drain box and other storm drain facilities at Barnard Street and Main ; in Centerville. The low bid was submitted by 4-Way Construction Company and was approximately $8,800 above, the estimate. However, there were 13 contractors, who bid on the . project with bids ranging as high as $14515 nearly twice the amount of the low bid. : . - "There must have been some hungry contractors ; but there," commented Commission Chairman William L. (Bill) Peters. Other commissioners agreed that it was a very favomble bid and some of the contractors left the commission chambers shaking their heads hi disbeUef.
