Show 80 acre annexation due By DONETA GATHERUM LAYTON - After eight months of negotiations between Layton City and property owners, the Lay-ton Lay-ton City council last week approved the annexation of 80 acres along 2200 West into the city. According to Scott Carter, community com-munity development director, some residents approached Layton City about annexation over five years ago. This year the talks became serious se-rious as the property owners along 2200 West experienced dry wells, their source of culinary water. They petitioned the city for annexation in order to receive the benefits of the cityscdinary'watefsVsTfcnt "v " It took eight months taorkjOut-the taorkjOut-the details of delivering water to this area and of developing a pay back system that was equitable , to the people and to the city. When the details were finally worked out, 31 of the 54 property owners on 2200 West petitioned for annexation. Council approval was unanimous. unani-mous. Although the area is mostly used for agriculture purposes, there will be at least 14 water connections added to Layton City's system because be-cause of this annexation.
