Show Centerville Jaycees set gun course Fun, safety oriented, educational, , youth -involved and competitive. Sound like the type of program you would like your youngster involved in? The Centerville Jaycees will be running just such a program beginning begin-ning Feb. 21 for five weeks. The program... called ..Shooting Edu- J cation, is sponsored nationally by Daisy Manufacturing Company, . Inc. and the United States Jaycees. - Each year, thousands of young boys and girls from all across the nation study the safety and cdu- v rational elements - of gunology. Through the Shooting Education program, these 8-14 year-olds learn proper gun handling before they begin participating in actual positions; posi-tions; prone, sitting, 'kneeling and standing; Finally, they shoot for scores and receive a certificate from the United States Jaycees showing they have mastered the basics of proper gun handling and gun use. This is all done with BB guns, targets tar-gets and; the cooperation of Daisy Manufacturing Company, Inc. After completing their.local pro- gram, the best shooters are selected -to represent their community at a state match. They shoot practice ; targets and study safety elements until their big day comes to compete com-pete against boys and girls their ' own age. The winners will go on to represent their state at the International Interna-tional BB .
