Show Cutler, Spendlove are MVP's Vikings take All-City track titles Johansen of Viewmont in the two mile, Steve Smith of Viewmont in the discus, Brent Smith of Bountiful Bounti-ful in the javelin, and Jared Blauer of Viewmont in the high jump. Viewmont also went 1-2-4 in the pole vault, but names were not turned in to the Clipper. Anderson of Viewmont, Tiffany Southwick of Bountiful, Cody Poole of Bountiful, and Debbie Cox of Viewmont. Medals were awarded the top three finishers, with ribbons for places fourth through sixth. By TOM HARALDSEN Sports Editor BOUNTIFUL Viewmont High School picked up right where it left off a year ago , capturing both the men's and women's team titles during the annual All-City Track I Classic Monday night at Bountiful High. A decent-sized crowd braved chilly conditions, at least in the early ear-ly going, to watch track and field competitors from Bountiful, View-i View-i mont and Woods Cross who gathered for the triangular meet. Viewmont's men's team scored points, while Bountiful was fond with 62 points and Woods h'oss third with 10. In the ladies' competition, the Vikes scored 86 points to beat out second-place Bountiful (64) and Woods Cross (17). One notable absentee from this year's meet was Woods Cross junior Carolyn Knight, who. won the Outstanding Female Athlete award at this meet last year. Knight is in the process of trying to overcome over-come a virus, and was advised by doctors not to compete anymore this season. Her absence hurt the Lady Wildcats. Top athletes were Bountiful's Mike Cutler, winner of both the 100 meters (10.96) and 400 meters (50.44), as well as anchor of both the 400 relay team, which took the gold in a time of 41 .43 , and the 1600 relay winning team (3:32.59). Viewmont's Stephanie Spendlove Spend-love won the top female award, as she captured the mile (5:47), 800 meters (2:31.17) and two mile (12:42.18). Other multiple winners included Mike Thompson of Bountiful in the 100 and 300 high hurdles, Debbie Weseman of Viewmont in the 100 and 300 hurdles, Marilyn Clifford of Viewmont in the 400 meters and 200 meters, Lori Stacey of Bountiful Bounti-ful in the discus and javelin, and Jenny Squire of Viewmont in the long jump and high jump. Spendlove was voted top female athlete of the meet. Clipper Sports Editor Tom Haraldsen presented the medals. As always, the Viewmont men's team was led by its dominant distance dis-tance racers. Anderson, Johansen, Brandon Bingham, Steve Barnes, Jason Wood and Martin Pack earned many of the Vikings' points. In the ladies' competition, other winners included Danielle Eastman East-man of Bountiful in the 100, and Stephanie Reading of Bountiful in the shot put. Other consistent performers per-formers all evening included Chan-telle Chan-telle Miner, of Bountiful, Callee Knighton of Viewmont, Kristen the Davis County Clipper each year.
