Show Longer season set for turkeys Beehive State gunners going after wild turkey this year will have a longer season than the past three years and will have their choice of any open area to hunt when they purchase the special turkey permits for 1966. The Fish and Game Commission Commis-sion set a season of October 1 through 16 for turkeys in parts of Wayne, Garfield, Washington, Washing-ton, and Kane Counties. This year, the LaSal Mountains are closed. Bag limit is again one bird of either sex. An unlimited number of turkey tur-key permits are available. Permits Per-mits are $3 and they entitle the permittee to hunt in any portion of the area open to hunting. Applications for turkey permits per-mits must be made to the Cedar Ce-dar City Fish and Game office by mail or personal application and must contain the applicant's appli-cant's full name, address, number num-ber of game bird or combination combina-tion license and a check or money order in the correct amount. Shotguns or center fire rifles will again be legal weapons for the hunt. Legal shot sizes for shotguns are stipulated at no larger than No. 2 or no smaller than No. 6. |
