Show Women at work on poverty Bands of women armed with unquenchable optimism are combing the streets on pockets of poverty throughout the country looking for trouble. They ride in police cars and walk untiring from block to block in their quest to uncover bad street lights, dirt-filled streets, juveniles standing around with nothing to do and alleys lined with loafers, just waiting. They are part of an anti-crime crusade which was begun in Indianopolis by 30 women who were aided by the Indianopolis News. They are now 60,000 strong and have rapidly multiplied into 482 similar sim-ilar crusades against crime that have spring up in other states.
