Show Scouts to assist Creek channel, banks will be cleaned isi beaufificafion move to prevent flooding or other damage from water. The boys are urged to bring a shovel or a rake and it is suggested they wear gloves. Seventh East and 6th East areas will be cleaned by the Sixth Ward Explorer group; Springville's city beautification beautifica-tion campaign initiated by the City Beautification Committee of which Margaret Conover is chairman, will get a big boost Saturday, through efforts of the Explorer Scouts, the National Na-tional Guardsmen and other interested in-terested citizens. Directed by the Explorer leaders, Hobble Creek channel from about 7th East to 2nd West, is to be cleaned of debris and brush and dead weeds along the banks. The National Guard is furnishing two trucks and men to assist in hauling the debris away. There will be men to oversee over-see the work on each block and nothing is to be removed which has been placed on the creek 5th East, the Eleventh Ward group; 4th East, the First and Second Ward groups; 3rd East, the Twelfth Ward; 2nd East, the ' Fourth Ward; 1st East, Fifth Ward; Main Street area, the" SeVenth and "10th Wards; 1st West, the Third and Eighth Wards; 2nd West, ttie Ninth Ward. The creek cleanup will get underway at 9 a.m., and the Explorers are expected to be at their prospective areas at that time. Members of the beautification beautifica-tion committee including besides be-sides Mrs. Conover, Mary Schwartz, Melva Harrison, Pat Conover and Jim Wardle, will all be on the job Saturday morning. Assisting also with plans are Floyd Stewart of the city council and Leonard James, city councilman and Springville Stake Explorer executive ex-ecutive and Boyd Wilson, Ko-lob Ko-lob Stake Explorer executive. |
