Swimmers okay CEDAR CITY - Cedar High School swimmers fared very well in a triangular meet conducted last weekend in Cedar City between the Redmen, Mt. View and Orem High Schools. "I have a lot of ninth and tenth graders who are constantly improving," said a pleased coach Dick Coston. "They're getting good, yet they're really quite young." Orem and Mt. View are neither in Region 8 with the Reds and both have excellent swimming programs with a lot of veteran swimmers at both schools. In the boys competition, Mt. View finished up ahead of the CHS boys but Cedar finished ahead of Orem. Cedar again placed second in the girls events. finishing behind Orem but ahead of Mt. View. Several outstanding individual performances were turned-in by young Redmen paddlers, particularly from Justin Jensen in the 50 and 100-meter 100-meter event, and Leah Jones in the 50-meter freestyle and 100-meter Next meet for the Redmen swimmers will be Dec. 12 at Orem against the Tigers. |
