Show Opera to be broadcast Tabarro" is a passionate love triangle that ends in murder. "Suor Angelica" is the story of a nun who finds salvation in death, and "Gianni Schicchi" is a rollicking comedy with a tinge of tenderness. The cast for "II Tabarro" will include Galina Savova as Giorgetta, Vasile Moldoveanu as Luigi, and Cornell MacNeil as Michele. Gilda Cruz-Romo Cruz-Romo will sing the title role of Suor Angelica with Bianca Berini as the Princess. Principals for "Gianni Schicchi" will be Catherine Malfitano as CEDAR CITY -Giacomo Puccini's "II Trittico,"a triple bill of the three one-act operas "II Tabarro," "Suor Angelica," and "Gianni Schicchi," will be broadcast live from the stage of the Metropolitan Opera House Saturday. The Texaco- Metropolitan Opera Radio Network broadcast will begin at noon over KGSU-FM, the Southern Utah State College radio station. . The three works make up a dramatically contrasting program. "II Lauretta, Jocelyn Taillon as Zita, Gabriel Bacquier as Gianni Schicchi, and Giuliano Ciannella as Rinuccio. Angelo Campori, in his Metropolitan Opera broadcast debut, will conduct. "Opera News on the Air" will be heard during the first intermission with "Texaco's Opera Quiz" aired during the second. KGSU-FM is located at 90.1 megahertz on the radio dial. It is operated by students in SUSC communications classes. |
