Show Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Gashler of Bisbee, Arizona visited relatives in St. George last Thursday and attended the evening Temple session. ses-sion. Married in the Mesa L. D. S. Temple, Nov. 7, the couple were enroute to Provo and Salt Lake City to visit relatives and on business. Mrs. Gashler is the former Miss Beryl Fern of Benson, Ben-son, Arizona. Mrs. Nettie K .Morris spent Saturday and Sunday in Cedar City visiting her daughter, Mrs. Bud Kunz. Week end guest at the home of Mrs. John T. Neilson was Miss munei nova ot Venice, Calif. She was here to visit Mrs. Maurice Tietjen, the former Anna Neilson who returned to Venice with her to accept employment at Douglas Aircraft. Mrs. Wendell Ramsay and daughter arrived last week to stay for the' duration with, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Reid. Her husband, who is with the U. S. Navy, is in the Central Pacific. Mrs. Ammon Lake and daughter, daugh-ter, Mrs. Ben Huchinson returned Monday evening to their home in Buttonwillow, Calif, after visiting several days with her sister, Mrs. Leo. G. Smith, and other relatives and attending Mr. Smith's funeral services. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Cottam are here from Nevada spending the week with Mr. and Mrs. Charles S. Cottam, parents of Mr. Cottam. They left their baby with Mrs. Cottam's mother in Nevada. Mr. and Mrs. J. Lawrence Wadsworth and daughter, Jane, left Sunday noon for Los Angeles to visit and on business. Roy Atkin who has been here for the past week with his sister his home in California, Tuesday.1 Mrs. Charlotte V. Atkin returned return-ed Monday from visiting with her children in Glendale, Utah. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Dahl left Sunday for Los Angeles where they will spend the week visiting and on busines. A family dinner and social Tuesday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Mack G. Jackson honored Mrs. Marvin Jenkins and baby who left Wednesday to make their home in California. Mr. Jenkins who is an airlines pilot accompanied them to St. George two weeks ago and went ahead to assume his new position and get locations for them. He has previously been located in Alaska. Mrs. Nellie Bringhurst returned last week from visiting in Provo with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Overly and children. Mrs. Schuyler Maggard spent Saturday and Sunday in Las Vegas with her sister, Mrs. Laurel Abbott. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Miles have returned from San Francisco where they have been visiting with their daughter, Mrs. Thur-mer. Thur-mer. Jacobs. . Mr. and Mrs. Wesley A. Nelson left Monday night for Los Angeles on a buying trip for Snow's Dress Shop and Western Auto. They plan to return Sunday. Mrs. Jos. W; McAllister returned re-turned Saturday from spending a month in various parts of California Calif-ornia with her children and grandchildren. grand-children. She reports that her small grandaughter, Mary Barton, is recovering in the Oakland hospital hos-pital from a recent attack of spinal menengitis. Mrs. Laviod Leavitt left Tues, day . to visit her husband, Pvt. Leavitt, who is located at the S.O.D. Proving Grounds in 111. Mrs. .Norman LeDoux and son, Kenneth left Sunday morning for San Francisco to meet her husband, hus-band, Norman LeDoux, SMlc, who is one leave from the South Pacific where he has been on duty for the past 19 months. Mrs. LeDoux is the former Miss Loretta Olds: Harold Russell of Salt Lake City spent Monday in St. George on business. He was formerly connected with Z i o n National Park. Mrs. Antone Nisson of Los Angeles An-geles is spending a few days in St. George enroute to Farragut, Ida., where she will join her husband hus-band who is stationed there. Mrs. Wayne Whitehead left on Tuesday afternoon for Los Angeles An-geles where she will visit with her sister, Mrs. Cecil Gates. Mr. and Mrs. Fred C. Taylor are spending this week visiting friends in St. George, enroute to San Pedro, Calif. Mr. Taylor was formerly employed by Western Newspaper Union in Salt Lake City, and is now working in the postoffice at San Pedro. Mr. and lire. John L. Whipple are here from Ely visiting. President Glenn E. Snow will present the college budget to the State Board of Education tomorrow tomor-row in a meeting at Salt Lake City. He will also attend meetings meet-ings of the board of trustees of the Utah Education Association tomorrow and Saturday. From there he will go to Washington, D. C to meet with the board of the National Education Association. |
