Show Dixie Beats Cedar Here 48-20 In League Play-Off Cedar To Play Roosevelt With Winner Slated To Tackle Dixie Flyers - Coaclt Stan Watts' six-man football foot-ball team will play in the state championship game on Wednesday November 22. The Flyers won their position as finalists as a result of their win over Cedar City here Monday, 48-20. The place for the final game depends upon the outcome of a game between Cedar City and Roosevelt at Roosevelt Friday. These two teams play for the right to meet Dixie. If Cedar City wins, the game will be played in Cedar. If Roosevelt comes out victorious, the championship contest con-test will likely be played in St. George. However, this is not yet definite. , Since Region 6 has shown superior sup-erior strength in football during the past, this region's runners-up are given the privilege of meeting the Region 5 champions; hence the Cedar City-Roosevelt game. , The Flyers .and Redmen represented repre-sented their respective districts in the Region 6 championship game Monday. The Flyers had downed Hurricane for this honor, and Cedar City had won from Beaver. Monday Game Exciting: The contest Monday was the 'most exciting game of the season. The two teams played on even terms for three quarters, when Dixie showed a display of power that could not be stopped. Milne5 Tecovered a Dixie fumble for the first touchdown. The Redmen continued to threaten up to the last six minutes, but the Flyers then pulled away for a lopsided score. If Dixie meets Cedar on the latter's gridiron for the state title and that is what the dopesters predict, the fans may look forward for-ward to a real contest. |
