Show Democrats Hold Victory Celebration Dinner Here Saturday, Noy. 11 Although., the Democratic party failed to score a total victory at the recent election, 102 Democrats Demo-crats of Washington county assembled as-sembled in the dining room of the Dixie College Science building Saturday, Nov. 11, at 9 p.m. for a dinner and get-together celebrating cele-brating their success as shown by the preliminary check of ballots. The idea of the dinner was launched by Arlo Prisbrey, chairman chair-man of the Young Democrats organization, and was sponsored largely by the county Democratic committee and publishers of the Citizen, a local campaign bulletin. There was county wide representation represen-tation at the three long tables and a spirit of jesting and good will dominated the program, with Roxey S. Romney as toastmistress. Speeches were made by Juanita Brooks, Pres. Glenn E. Snow, Newell R. Frei, Pres. Harold S. Snow, Arthur F. Miles, Wendell Bayles, Maurine Whipple and William Wil-liam Brooks. Campaign workers were presented from throughout the county and the candidates were also given recognition. The entire program was impromptu. A report of campaign funds and expenses ex-penses was made by Miss Alice Pendleton, county secretary for the party. |
