Show Bevan Nazer Has Close Call In Truck Accident What could have been a fatal accident ac-cident occurred early last Monday morning, just beyond Coal Hill, on U. S. S9, when Bevan Nazer and Rex Dutton, were pinned into the overturned Rocky Mountain Service truck in a blinding snow storm. Rex Dutton was driving, with Mr. Nazer in the seat beside him. They passed through the Zion-Mt. Carmel tunnel and ran into the heavy snow storm. There was about four inches of snow on the ground and in the early morning, it was difficult to follow the highway high-way in the blinding snow. Just beyond Coal Hill, another truck ahead of them had gone off the right-hand side of the road, and overturned in the barrow bar-row pit, but without serious damage. dam-age. The Rocky Mountain -truck was heavily loaded with produce, and following the tracks in the snow, also got off the highway, crashing into the other overturned truck. As they crashed, Mr. Nazer raised his arm in front of his face,- and the large tendons in his wrist were severed. The engine en-gine ' of the truck was pushed back into the cab, pinning Nazer against the seat. It was necessary neces-sary to remove the springs and packing from the rear of the cab seat, to get him loose. Mr. Dutton Dut-ton was unhurt. Passing cars took Mr. Nazer to Hurricane, where Dr. E. Clark Mclntyre gave first aid. He was then brought to St. George, where Dr. A. W. McGregor Mc-Gregor stitched up the tendons. |
