Show Red Cross Asks Workers To Turn In More Supplies for Fighters Although much has been accomplished accom-plished under the production unit of the Washington County Chapter Chap-ter of the American Red Cross calls are being repeated for additional addi-tional supplies, both for the men in the hospitals and for those on the fighting lines, as well as for other purposes. The area office is asking for kit bags, layettes and hospital supplies. The county has an assignment of approximately 244 kit bags. These are expensive, the cost of equipping each kit with thread, needles, buttons, books, stationery, cards, etc., amounting to $1.00 or Avpr Allotment Nearly Completed Hurricane and the Zion Park branch have their allotment of kit bags practically completed and other units are working to prepare pre-pare the assignments. Part of the expense of equipping the kits is being taken by civic and social clubs and groups, but it is hoped the allotment will soon be in readiness for shipment. Mrs. Harold S. Snow is directing direct-ing the making of hospital supplies sup-plies and reports clubs and other units are making good response. However, there are still many articles needed in this branch of the work. Mrs. Thomas Jones is in charge of the knitting and has a good supply of yarns at her home, where she will instruct and assist as-sist with kriitting. She reports the yarn is also here for the stub socks. The women of Leeds are giving special help in this line of production and have thus far made 30 sweaters. Joseph Barton, knitting expert, has just turned in his 95th sweater, reports Mrs. Romney. . |
