Show LaYERKIN Pansy L. Hardy Reporter Miss Auzie Gifford, who has employment at Las Vegas is home for the Christmas holidays. Mr. and Mrs. Theron Stevens and family of Las Vegas and Mr. and Mrs. Harris Merrill ana family of Springville visited their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Brigham TTardv dnrins' the Christmas holi days. Speakers at our Sacrament meeting Sunday were Melvin Gifford, Gif-ford, a deacon, Elmer Hardy, Hardy Segler and Lorin G. Squire. Fawn Gubler sang, "Say A Prayer", Pray-er", accompanied by her mother, Mrs. Thora Gubler. Attending the Zion Park stake banquet and dance in Hurricane Monday evening, Dec. 27, from LaVerkin were: Bishop and Mrs. Lorin G. Squire, Counselor and Mrs. Lafell Iverson, Mr. and Mrs. Winferd Gubler, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Hardy, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Church, Mr. and Mrs. Wickley Gubler, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Wilson and Horatio Gubler. Gub-ler. All reported a delightful program pro-gram and entertainment. The LaVerkin ward M. I. A. held a pre-Christmas party Dec. 21, at the ward hall. The room was decorated with a large lighted Christmas tree from which the junior ward members received exchange ex-change gift packages. Following a short program the evening was devoted to dancing. Christmas pageantry and singing sing-ing were featured in the Christmas Christ-mas Eve program presented by the LaVerkin ward Primary officers offi-cers and children, with the par-! par-! ents as guests. The birth of Christ, a typical pioneer Christmas, Christ-mas, and a Christmas in the home ! for soldier boys. Mrs. John A. Judd read, "The Night Before I Christmas", and Neil Hardy read "Why Do Bells for Christmas R.ing". A visit from Santa with j treats for the children concluded the program. The M. I. A. held an old-time dance Monday evening, with a large crowd attending, and the ) town sponsored a free community , dance on Tuesday evening. Miss Martha Foerrster spent Christmas at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Horatio Gubler. Miss Daisy Hardy is visiting this week at Mesquite with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Parley Leavitt. j Mrs. Pauline Christensen, physical physi-cal education teacher of Dixie 'junior college, spent Christmas week end here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Luther Fuller, go-'ing go-'ing on to northern Utah to visit 'her husband's family. Mr. Christensen Christ-ensen is absent in military training. |
