O. Bentley. Guests over Christmas of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Anderson were their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Chamberlain and children of Logandale. Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Manwar-ing Manwar-ing and baby were Christmas week end visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John T. Neilson, parents of Mrs. Manwaring. Mrs. Alice W. Milne spent Christmas day in Cedar City with her sons, Clinton and Herbert Milne and families. The Vesta club members and their partners held a pot-luck supper sup-per party Monday evening at the home of Sheriff and Mrs. Antone B. Prince. Plates were set for 34. Mr. and Mrs. Lenzi Sullivan entertained St. George postal employees em-ployees at their home Monday evening at a post-Christmas turkey dinner. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Butcher and baby were Christmas week end visitors at the home of Mrs. Butcher's mother, Mrs. Margie Miss Edith Crosby arrived last Thursday from Salt Lake City to visit with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur F, Miles. , Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Sanderson and small son arrived last week from Los Angeles to visit with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. George tsaKer. Christmas guests of Mr. and Mrs. Reed Blake were their mother, Mrs. Minnie Harris of Leeds, their brother, Murray Harris Har-ris and wife and brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Barney Tebbs of Culver City, Calif. Brimhall of Provo, parents of Mrs. Pearson H. 'Corbett are spending the two weeks' holiday vacation with the Corbetts at their new home in St. George. Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Bleak and Mr. and Mrs. Ralston Barber visited in Las Vegas over Christmas Christ-mas week end with Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Bleak and two children. George H. Seegmiller and daughter, daugh-ter, Ruby, left Sunday for Salt Lake City, from where the latter went on to Seattle, Wash., for her marriage to Lieut. Dall Black. Mrs Nolan Andreason of Salt Lake City and her niece, Miss Verl Hall, were visitors in St George over the week end. Sgt. Andreason is in Mississippi. Mr and Mrs. Douglas Hall and two sons visited in St. George Monday, having spent Christmas with relatives in Nevada. Mr. Hall called at the News office to say "Hello", said they were doing well in Compton, but still had homesick thoughts for St. George. Their son, Parry, who was badly burned last summer is getting around and they have hope of his ! complete recovery. I I John M. Jackson entertained enter-tained at a dinner party Wednesday Wed-nesday evening at their home jointly honoring her husband on his birthday anniversary and their friend, Ralston Barber, who expects ex-pects to leave shortly for military service. Plates were set for Mr. and Mrs. Barber, and Mr. and Mrs. Clawson Burgess of Pine Valley; Mr. and Mrs. Vier Mc-Mullin Mc-Mullin of Leeds; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Reitz of St. George and I the host and hostess. W if Mrs. James LeRoy Holt returned re-turned home Dec. 28 from Anna-belle, Anna-belle, Utah, where she went last Sunday to attend ' the funeral services for her father, Herbert Gleaves, aged 90, who died there Dec. 23rd. Along with his own work as an agriculturist, Mr. Gleaves has served 60 years as secretary of the Annabelle-Sevier Irrigation company, and 50 years as member of the school board. He has nine living children, 50 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Riding and three sons visited Wednesday with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Riding and Mrs. Maud Cottam and Talmadge Christensen at the Delta v -Jt- Mr. and Mrs. Jack Sutphin of Las Vegas visited in St. George last Thursday, enroute to Provo and Salt Lake City to spend the holidays. Mr. and Mrs.' Calvin Dalton and two sons came down from Orem last week to join their, son, Pvt. Calvin W. (Winsor) Dalton, who arrived from Camp San Luis Obispo for a short furlough. They were Christmas guests of Mrs. Dalton's sister, Miss Tillie Winsor, who returned with them to Orem Wednesday to remain 'till the end of the week. . Trumbull Trum-bull visiting and transacting business. busi-ness. & Relatives in St. George were advised ad-vised over the week end of the birth of a son to Mr. and Mrs. Talmage Christensen at the Delta hospital, Dec. 24. The mother is the former Shirley Webb of this city. 5- t5- Miss Grace Alene Foremaster underwent surgery at the local hospital Dec. 29. Mr. and Mrs. William Worthen and children of Las Vegas, and Mr. and Mrs. Cleo Whitney and I baby of Logandale spent last Sunday Sun-day in St. George attending a family dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Mathis. Among the 30 attending the dinner were Mrs. Mathis' brother, Richard Andrus, wife and children from Belle, Calif. They returned home this (Thursday) morning. Elmer Hall was operated on in the local hospital Dec. 30. -VU -V.
