Show County Machinery Allotment For '44 Announced Farmers Urged To Make Applications With County Committee At Once The allotment of machinery for Washington county for the year 1944 has been made so that it is possible to know just how much and what machinery will come into the county. This allotment of machinery to the county is based on the prior purchasing of machinery by farmers in the county. The amount will not take care of the needs of all people wanting and needing machinery in the county, reports Wilford Schmutz, so long as the war goes on and rationing must be made, it will be necessary for all to try and get along with as little machinery as possible. Responsibility of Committee The members of the committee with the responsibility of allotting this machinery wish to do so in a manner, that will make it possible pos-sible for the machinery to do the most good in all localities. This can best be done by individuals cooperating and purchasing one machine to supply their needs. The committee in an effort to best serve the needs of the people have thought it best to set a date, January 15, by which time all farmers desiring machinery of any kind should make application at the AAA office in the Pickett building in St. George for the machinery they need. The application appli-cation does not necessarily mean that all would get what they apply for as . this would be impossible, im-possible, but it does give the committee com-mittee an opportunity to determine deter-mine more nearly the needs of all the county and to better allocate al-locate the machinery. The machinery ma-chinery will no doubt go to individuals indi-viduals or groups of individuals, who show, by their applications the most need for the equipment. The following types are the items of machinery that require purchase certificates: Machinery Types Listed I Planters, (horse or tractor drawn and tractor mounted).
