Show Elementary Hotes The Elementary School planted its lawn a few weeks ago. and it is now coming up very fine, thanks to Mr. Pendleton. We also have some nice shrubs that Mr. Pendleton Pendle-ton has taken very good care of. The School has been trying to stay off the lawn as much as possible, pos-sible, and we hope that the people of St. George will continue to help us. Junior McGregor and Leslie Cannon. Miss Hopkin's First Grade This week we are learning about wild animals for our circus. We have some new animal books that Miss Winsor sent us. Mrs. Pitchforth's Second Grade We have a nice collection of rocks in our room. We are learning to tell what kind they are and how they were made. Joseph knows many things about rocks. He is helping us in our rock study. Miss Morris' Second Grade Miss Winsor sent us some health books. We enjoyed them so much that we decided to make one of our own. We are bringing pictures from home and writing poems to go with them. Miss Larson Third Grade Monday morning we had a pleasant plea-sant surprise in our room. Nine beautiful goldfish were living in our fish pond. We are going to take good care of them. Our boys have made us some nice chairs. They made them out of orange crates. The girls are making covers for them. We have organized our reading club with Barbara Wilkinson and Lois Jean Pymm as president and secretary. They will hold office for a week. We are planning to make it a very successful club. We meet to read stories to each other every Friday. Many good stories are being prepared. After we have finished our stories Friday Fri-day we will elect a new president and secretary for another week. By doing this we plan for everyone every-one in the room to have a chance to hold office. Miss Seegrailler's Fifth Grade Many boys and girls in our room are trying out for the reading certificates. We hope they can all get one. In our study of Mexico, some of the boys and girls have brought interesting Mexican things. The boys and girls who brought them were: Lola Dee Madison, Sharlene Snow, Lou Jean Atkin, Jim Bowler Bow-ler and Chyrrel Heaton. We enjoy the study of Mexico very much and we are reading many Mexican books. Mr Cannon's Sixth Grade It is now our third week of school. We are just getting settled from our summer vacation. Our class has started to study about the early world. In safety we are studying about fire prevention. We are expecting to have a very interesting in-teresting school year. Miss Cox's Second Grade We have been busy making health posters and a health border for our room. We have learned many things to do that will help to keep us well and strong. Miss Foremaster's Fourth Grade We have an interesting rock and shell collection. The most unusual thing brought in this week was a meter and fossil with star fish. We have some caterpillars and chrysalises. |
