Show St. George Stake Holds Quarterly Conference Sunday Speakers Treat Wide Range Of Subjects In Morning, Afternoon and Night Meetings The St. George Stake Quarterly Conference convened in the Stake Tabernacle at 10:00 Sunday morning morn-ing with Pres. W. O. Bentley presiding, the singing for the conference con-ference was furnished by the Veyo and Gunlock Wards. Singing, "Happy Day". Prayer by Bishop A. K. Hafen. Singing: "All Hail the Glorious Day". General and Stake Authorities Authori-ties were presented and sustained. The first part of the morning session was given over to the Relief Society who held their convention con-vention in connection with conference. confer-ence. Vaughn Cottam, who recently returned from a two years mission mis-sion in Germany, reported his labors la-bors and bore a strong testimony. He urged young people to take advantage of apportunities to fill missions. The Singing mothers sang, "Crossing The Bar." Barr Musser, stake mission president, gave a report of this year's work and told of the good that had come through the prayerful labors of the Stake Missionaries. Dr. Roy West stated that "we live in a world where discouraging things come but that we belong to a church that believes in faith, prayer and progress and we should never sit down and wait for someone some-one to right all wrongs. We should work faithfully and strengthen our testimonies." A special 'nusical number was given from the Veyo and Gunlock Wards. Judge Will I. Hoyt quoted from the Relief Society report and mentioned the good that was done by that organization. He called! attention to the failure of the people at the present time to study the scriptures. He related the need for missionaries in the field and urged parents to instill in the hearts of their children a desire to serve God and keep His commandments. Albert Hooper, a member of the General Board of the Sunday School, spoke on the "Cooperation that should exist between Bishops and ward officers," and in conclusion con-clusion spoke of the "joys that come through service and the (Continued on page five) j.
