Fifteen of her young friends enjoyed games, etc., on the lawns fronting the home of Mrs. Mae Harris. Mrs. Roxey Romney left Tuesday Tues-day morning for Logan where as vice-president of the Ladies' Auxiliary Aux-iliary of the State Municipal League, she will take part in their convention being held there on August 22, 23 and 24. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth LaSeur of Cedar City were in St. George Monday on business. Mrs. Marguerite Houston and daughter, Marguerite who have been visiting in Los Angeles were guests here Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hogan enroute to their home in Sandy. Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Stucki left Tuesday evening to spend a few days on Cedar Mountain. - & Mrs. Fred Klenk and family are moving to Panaca, Nevada on Saturday. .They are making the move to be closer to Capt. Klenk who is associated with the CCC camp at Delmeus Ranch, Nevada. Mrs. Elmer Harmon of Washington Wash-ington was hostess to the Bridg-ettes Bridg-ettes on Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. Louis Pectol and Mrs. Clark Empey were high scorers. Howard Whitehead left Wednesday Wed-nesday morning for Manti to check with school officials on his . position there, before the start of the school term. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Holland and Mrs. Holland's sisters, Irma and Helen Bentley, spent the week end in Salt Lake City on business and visiting. Miss Grace Cottam returned last week from San Francisco. Miss Ruth Cottam will remain at the coast until the end of this week. , Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Lund and daughters, Lela and Renee left last Saturday for the coast where they will visit with relatives both in Los Angeles and San Francisco. Fran-cisco. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. J. Squire of Salt Lake City and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Bunting have returned from a three week's vacation to California where they visited the San Francisco World's Fair. On their way back they stopped here where they are visiting with their mother, Mrs. Loren A. Little. A group met Wednesday night at the home of Mrs. Loren A. Little and surprised her with a party on her 71st birthday anniversary. anni-versary. Mr. and Mrs. Grant Hardy and family and Mrs. Fern Waite of Bunkerville are visiting this week at the Douglas Hall home. Mrs. W. W. McArthur and son, Lloyd and daughter, Enid, left today to spend several days in Pine Valley park. Mrs. Adrene Cottam, Elaine Hafen and Rhoda Cannon have spent the fore part of the week there. The H. N. H. club was held last evening at the apartment of Mrs. Marion Bowler. Milton E. Moody, Washington County School superintendent, left by bus last evening for Salt Lake City where he will transact official of-ficial business. Mrs. Orpha Hunt returned Tuesday evening from a six weeks' visit with relatives in Cottonwood, Ariz. She was accompanied ac-companied home by her nephew, John Murdock, of Camp Verde, Ariz., who will attend school here this winter. Mrs. Alice Gove, who has spent 10 days visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Edgar R. Simpson, left last Monday for Colorado, where she will visit other relatives. Mrs. Wilford J. Reichman and sons and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Moody left Sunday for the northern part of the state where they attended the marriage of Miss Ruby Christen-sen Christen-sen and Antone Moody on Tuesday Tues-day and a reception in Lehi for the young couple on Wednesday evening. Miss Doris Atkin returned on Sunday night from Los Angeles where she spent 10 day's visiting. Olaf Sandberg and daughter, Mary, of Huntington, Utah, are visiting relatives here and in Washington. Miss Sandberg is a guest of Mr. and Mrs. Laron Andrus. Glenn E. Snow is a business visitor in Salt Lake City, having been called there on business today. Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Thomas and family are spending the week in Pine Valley. County ' officers and their partners part-ners held a steak supper at the Pine Valley recreation park on Tuesday evening. Twenty-two people enjoyed the cooling breezes following a light shower in the valley. & Mrs. Norma Wright is employed employ-ed at the Pickett Lumber company, com-pany, taking Miss Nelda Cornelius' Cor-nelius' position. Miss Cornelius quit last week and will be married mar-ried next Tuesday. . O. T. T. F. 4-H CLUB Six members of the O. T. T. F. 4-H club, their leaders and one visitor met at the home of Grace Bentley on Tuesday, August 20. The girls sewed while they planned a party to be held Friday Fri-day evening at the home of Virginia Vir-ginia Woodbury. Vauna Mae Leany, Reporter Mr. and Mrs. Levi Atkin and family, who have made their home in Buttonwillow, Calif, for the past three years, have returned re-turned to St. George. They were also accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Mervin Dyer, the former Miss Emma Lee Atkin, who will Mr. and Mrs. Jack Longson of Salt Lake City returned to their home Friday after spending a week here visiting. |
