Lowe, candidate for the Republican nomination for Governor of Utah, are receiving highly encouraging reports from all parts of the state in the preliminary campaign, cam-paign, according to Ralph A. Sheffield, one of Mr. Lowe's supporters. sup-porters. Mr. Lowe, a successful business man and attorney of Salt Lake City, is of pioneer stock. Born and raised at Willard, Box Elder county, Utah, Mr. Lowe early began earning his way. At 16 years of age he managed man-aged the family farm and rode the cattle range in Cache Valley. At 19 he entered the B.Y.U. at Provo, and later was graduated from the University of Utah. During the summer vacations he worked with a construction crew on the Southern Pacific railway. A self-made man, with practical practi-cal experience in farming, labor, teaching, law and business, Mr. Lowe has always been active in community service and civic affairs. af-fairs. He was a charter member and president of the Brigham City Rotary club; county attorney attor-ney of Box Elder county for three terms; Republican State Chairman; Chair-man; delegate at large from Utah to Republican National Convention Conven-tion in 1924, and also in 1932 when he was a member of the resolutions committe, representing represent-ing the western states for silver; president of Salt Lake Rotary club; director of the Rotary Boys' club. |
