Show Local People Attend Encampment At Lehi On Saturday Aug. 17 Saturday, August 17, the following follow-ing people returned from the annual an-nual T"). TT P nrtri Tnrlinn War Vnt. eran's Encampment at Lehi, Utah: Mr. and Mrs. Leo A. Snow, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Cottam, Mr. and Mrs. George Worthen, Mr. and Mrs. William T. Morris, Sr., Mr. and Mrs. David Moss and Leo G. Smith. There were 154 pioneers and Indian War Veterans present. Besides Be-sides those who were accompanied accompan-ied in private homes, there were 100 tents erected for visitors. It is estimated that there were 30,-000 30,-000 people in attendance. Programs were rendered by each post and each day was filled with activities: rodeo, carnival and parades. Telegrams from the Chamber of Commerce and other clubs and organizations of St. George inviting in-viting the encampment to our city in 1941 were read by Leo G. Smith. They seemed to favor an acceptance. The visitors from St. George were treated exceptionally well by their host in Lehi, and' all report having had an enjoyable time. |
