ROAD BUREAU DENIES CHANGE The federal bureau of public roads has notified the Nevada state highway commission that it will not permit the Mesquite-Virgin Mesquite-Virgin river highway to be rerouted re-routed through the business section sec-tion of Bunkerville when the new road is built this spring. Contract was let on February 10. S. C. Durkee, head of the highway department, said the bureau had informed him that it did not consider a change in alignment would constitute an improvement over the present road and that the proposed rerouting re-routing therefore was in conflict con-flict with a long-standing policy of the bureau. Federal funds are to be used in the project.
