Show PIONEER WOMAN DIES AT KANAB Mrs. Margaret Brinkerhoff Swapp, died at her home in Kanab Saturday of old age. She was born at Centerville on May 1, 1859, a daughter of James and Rebecca Brinkerhoff. The family moved to Utah's Dixie in 1863, locating at St. George, but later moved to Muddy river mission. The family moved in 1871 to Glendale, Kane county, and on November 22, 1S75, she married James Swapp in the endowment house at Salt Lake. They lived at Glendale Glen-dale until 1890, when they moved to Kanab.. Mr. Swapp died January 7, 1922. Eleven sons and daughters survive: Mrs. Edith S. Bunting, Mrs. WTinnie Pugh, Mrs. Elizabeth Eliza-beth S. Ford, Mrs. Margaret S. Cram, Mrs. Loie S. Little, J. E., George and Donald Swapp, and Mrs. Viola S. Glazier, all of Kanab; Mrs. Lavina S. Jones, Cedar City; Mrs. Thora Swapp, San Francisco; sixty-two grandchildren grand-children and seventeen greatgrandchildren. |
