At the Sunday morning session ses-sion the speakers were Harvey Hall of the stake high council, Vernon Church, bishop of the LaVerkin ward, Orval Isom of the Seminary, and Dr. Joseph Merrill who had just arrived from Cedar City where he Ind been held up by the storm. Miss Florence Judd of the Seminary was the first speaker at the Sunday afternoon session, ses-sion, followed by President Claud Hirschi, A. Norman Kimball, principal of the Hurricane Seminary, Semi-nary, and Dr. Merrill . The evening services were under the direction of the M. I. A., with Miss Maude Lemmon presiding. Superintendent Wm. Woodbury was the first speaker. speak-er. A reading was given by Veda Beams, a saxophone solo by Pery Wittwer, vocal duet, Gladys Woodbury and Mildred Theobald, and a talk by Dr. Merrill. Prof. Manning of Cedar City had charge of the music Sunday, while the Springdale ward gave the musidal numbers Saturday. Bishop Alvin Hardy was set apart as bishop of the Spring-dale Spring-dale ward. A record-breaking crowd was in attendance. Dr. Merrill stayed over Monday and visited the Seminary. |
