I THE NUMBER TWO ranked bareback bronc rider as of June 20, Mickey Young, engages in a battle with his horse during Cm?LQ)y5 WDGD SG"3WirDS (s3u (S(yjfildiyjp 0Sd Two former Dinosaur Roundup Rodeo champions Kent Cooper and Mike Miller, became first place title holders, once again, at the 33rd annual Dinosaur Roundup Rodeo in Vernal, Thursday, Friday and Saturday Satur-day when they tied for top honors in the saddle bronc event with score of 80. Cooper gained his 80 score on Bearhug, Thursday and Miller, who won the title last year, rode Windy City Ci-ty to victory. Cooper is from Declo, Idaho and Miller lives in Big Piney, Wyo. Dixon Hamilton of Wellsville, Utah and Twin Falls, Idaho's Tom Pearson split third and fourth with scores of 74. Cooper and Miller won $555.66 and Hamilton and Pearson won $238.14. Dar Haskins of nearby Maybell, Colorado Col-orado pocketed first place in the bareback bronc event with a score of 77 on Feller's Height. Haskins won $564,488, Mickey Young, Jerome, Idaho, who is originally from Wellington, Well-ington, Utah and Paul Henrie, Joseph, Utah, split second and third. The two cowboys won $352.80. ' IHE FIRST contestant in the saddle bronc event, Kent Per, Declo, Idaho, rides a bucking bronc, Thursday at the Ulnsaur Roundup Rodeo. Cooper scored an 80 on Bearhug and ended up tying for first place with Mike Miller of Big Piney, Wyo. Nampa, Idaho, placed fourth at 73 and won $141.12. Jerry Kendall, Paul, Idaho and Rodney Argon, Snowville, Utah, captured cap-tured first place in the team roping event at 6.7 and won $666.44 each. Jim Ruravina and Jim Brown, Elkridge, Utah, placed second at 12. and won. $498.33. The number one ranked team ropers as of June, Julio Moreno, Marysville, Calif., and Rickey Green, Stockton, Calif., placed third at 7.5 and each won $332.22. Dean and John Bell, Paradise Valley, Nev., pocketed fourth place at 8.0 and each won $166.11. Bosque Prams, New Mexico's Tammy Tam-my King bagged top honors in the girls' barrel race at 16.56 and won $462.25. Mary Zollinger, Rexburg, Idaho, placed plac-ed second at 16.60 and won $376.65. Saundra Sorenson, Spanish Fork, picked pick-ed up third place honors at 16.167 and snared $308.17. Suzzanne Fausett, Fort Duchesne, grabbed fourth place honors at 16.68 and won $222.57. Didi Taylor, Caldwell, Idaho, and Deena Shiner, Leadore, Idaho, split fifth and sixth at 16.74. The ladies won $128.44 each. Bonnie Gleave, East Carbon, placed seventh at 16.75 and won $51.36. Colleen Behrman, Maybell, Colo., placed eighth at 16.83 and won $34.24. Provo's Shad Boardman and Rob Laird, DuBois, Idaho., split first and second place in bull riding at 75 and won $596.82 each. Todd Burningham, Provo and Tod Stimpson, Ogden, split third and fourth at 66 and won $255.78. Joe Sagers of Burley, Idaho, roped his calf in 10.2 for first place in the calf roping event and won $842.80. Mitch Coops, Dilley, Texas, placed second at 11.1 and won $632.10. Puddin Payne, Twin Falls, Idaho, snared third place at 12.0 and won $421.40. Brent Carter, Phoenix, Ariz., captured fourth place at 12.7 and won $210.70. Jack Hannum, Ogden, former Union High School football coach in the late 1960's, acquired first place honors in the steer wrestling event at 4.8 and won $686. Walt Parke of Gooding, Idaho, placed second at 5.1 and won $514.50. Mark Parker, Murray, captured cap-tured third place at 5.2 and won $343.
