The commission is now awaiting the final contract, which Merrell says will be signed if the commissioners find no discrepancies. That document should arrive and be signed in the next couple cou-ple of days. Under the agreement the Uintah County Commission will maintain total control over the facility, and Chartham will simply supply the expertise ex-pertise of operation. Chartham currently cur-rently owns 18 nursing homes and are under management agreement on others. Merrell said the fact that Chartham Char-tham is so experienced in this type of operation should be very advantageous. State law requires specialized people peo-ple in certain positions in such a nursing nurs-ing home, and Chartham will supply those positions. They will be under contract to provide a manager, a head nurse. t.iJ a bookkeeper. The contract will be paid directly to Chartham, but all other employees will work directly direct-ly for Uintah County. The Chartham employees will make weekly financial reports to the commissioners, com-missioners, as well as constant reports on all other aspects of the operation of the facility. Merrell said part of the contract will be to use Chartham's computer facilitits and any of their existing ex-isting programs which will benefit the facility. The new nursing home is a 50-bed facility and will eventually have a staff of between 35 and 38 people when the home is filled to capacity. Merrell said he expects the facility to fill very shortly after it opens in late August. Merrell said the experience of Chartham Char-tham has already shown up in putting the finishing touches on the building. One thing Chartham suggested was to move the compressors for the food coolers outside to eliminate internal noise. The finish work on the interior of the building is now proceeding as well as the landscape work.
