Show j i i Ina Chivers Lovina Chivers remembered by Naples service Lovina Roseland "Ina" Palmer Chivers, 83, died in the Ashley Valley Medical Center July 8, 1983." She was the daughter of John E. and Mary Anderson Palmer and was born in Vernal Aug. 1, 1899. She married Clyde Chivers May 29. 1919 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Mrs. Chivers was a homemaker, painter, paper hanger and interior decorator. A member of the Naples 2nd Ward, she served as primary president, presi-dent, relief society president, MIA young women's president, Sunday school coordinator, served as a teacher in all organizations, and relief society visiting teacher for 68 years. She was active in the chorus and member of DUP Porter Merrell Camp. Survived by her husband of Vernal; a son and three daughters, Dr. Durrell Chivers of Vernal; Mrs. Verin (Peggy) Goodrich of Vernal, Mrs. Angala Coonradt of Vernal and Mrs. George (Erma) Enos of Livermore, Calif.; 20 grandchildren; 18 ' great grandchildren; and -a brother, Clarence Palmer of Vernal. Preceded in death by two sons and a daughter: Boyd D. Chivers, Arbrey John Chivers and Dlydie Rae Chivers. Funeral services were Monday, July Ju-ly 11, in the Napes 2nd Ward Chapel. Bishop Lorin Merrell conducted the service. A quartet, Verdin Goodrich, Mac Holmes, Philip Manwaring and Norman Haslem sang, "My Father Knows." Wesley Bowden gave the invocation. in-vocation. A quartet sang a medley of Ina's favorite songs. Bishop Merrell gave some remarks, and President Mac Holmes spoke. Francis Merrell sang 'Wonderful Mother of Mine" and Ross Merrell spoke. The quartet sang "Abie With Me Tis Eventide." Duaine Nelson gave the benediction. Prior to the service Clarence Palmer gave the family prayer. Pallbearers were Craig Goodrich, David Coonradt, Arbrey Chivers, Kenneth Ken-neth Goodrich, Mark Coonradt, and Kurtis Chivers. Interment was in the Vernal Memorial Park. |
