Builder of the bridge is Lonnie Travis, Reproduction of bridge on display at county library The reproduction of a railroad bridge with over 1000 pieces is on display at the Uintah County Library. The eight-foot miniature bridge was built by Lonnie Travis of Vernal. It took 350 hours to build the 32-inch high reproduction of an actual bridge near Lewiston, Idaho. "If you put each piece end to end it would reach 900 feet," Travis said about his bridge. "We (he and his wife) are building 57 world famous bridges from all over the world," he added. Travis started building bridges as a hobbie in college, and it later turned into in-to a business. He sells most of his bridges to collectors, museums and large business corporations.
