Vernal City Police are looking for a white male about 5 foot 6 inches, in connection with a robbery at the Starlite (Motel, 311 East Main last Saturday,. Jan. 3. Supposedly, the motel manager I returned from the laundry room of the motel and surprised a, suspect who was I inside the motel behind the till. The suspect forced his way out of the motel with $150 cash, said Robert Downard, chief of police. Police were unable to find the suspect who fled the scene on foot, but several clues and a composite drawing of the suspect from the description by a witness and victim, lead police to believe that the "outlook is good to resolve the case," Downard said. Persons with any information should contact the Vernal City Police Department, Detectives Joseph Boren or Paul Parker, 789-4222. The suspect is 5'6", 160 pounds, adult male with brown hair with a red tint anda red beard. He was wearttgjs., straw cowboy hat and a red and gray plaid shirt at the time of the robbert. Police also reported a pedestrian accidentMonday, Jan.5,at2:59p.m. at 225 West 600 North. A five year-old child ran out into the road and was struck by a 1976 GMC driven by Clayton R. Southam, 28. The youth received minor injuries and was held overnight at the Uintah County Hospital. No citations have been issued pending further investigation, reported investigating officers. |
