Show The largest most important river in Uintah County is the Green River. The river enters the northeast corner and follows a south-westerly course through the entire length of the county. Major tributaries of the Green River are the Yampa, and the White Rivers. There are five rivers and streams in the county coun-ty which all drain from the south slope of the Uinta Mountains, they are: Brush Creek, Ashley Creek, Whiterocks River, Uinta River and Duchesne River. Steinaker Reservoir, a boating, fishing and swimming recreational area was the first unit of the Central Utah Project; it receives its water from Ashley Creek. |
