Show ASHLEY FOREST ENGINEER Richard Snyder, the new Ashley National . Forest engineer, is from the Six Rivers National Forest, Eureka, California, where he worked in Planning as the Assistant Forest engineer. A graduate of the South Dakota School of Mines, Snyder received his Masters Degree from the University of California at Berkeley and was a registered civil engineer in the state of California He began his career with the Forest Service in Missoula, Montana in 1961. Snyder was a Lieutenant with the U.S. Army at Fort Riley, Kansas in 1962 and 1963. He spent one year in the Central Highlands of Vietnam as a Commander Com-mander and Assistant Operations Officer with a Civil Engineers Unit and held the rank of Captain. Snyder resides in Vernal with his wife Jean, daughter Rebek ah, age 10 and son Richard, age 8. Snyder and his family are looking forward to making many new friends in Vernal and they enjoy the outdoor sports that this area has to offer. |
