The first members of the "I Sure Enjoyed Watching You Play Basketball" Basket-ball" Hall of Fame is the double entry of Richard and Robert Walker of Uintah High School in 1967. They were the deadly doubles as they were twins and if one of the players didn't kill a team with his scoring eruption then the other one knocked the remaining basketball life out of the team's chances at a win with a point explosion of his own. Emery High School was a power in basketball in 1967 and many people figured that the Spartans were going to take state, but the Uintah Utes had different ideas as they thumped Emery in the semi-finals and crushed Grant-sville Grant-sville in the championship game in the Class B Tournament. The third, fourth, fifth and sixth members of the Hall of Fame are Union stars in 1968, Garth Jarman, Greg Gollaher and Lessle Gardner. Jarman was 510" guard with a deadly outside shot and Gollaher and Johnson were talented forwards with good shooting eyes and Gardner at 6'4" was a powerful center. Union thumped North Rich in the first round 78 to 62 and Wasatch toppled Duchesne 70 to 59. Manti edged Union in the second round 62 to 56 and Cedar City knocked off Duchesne 76-51. Union blasted South Sevier 81 to 41 and North Sanpete downed Union in the battle for fourth place. The Cougars placed seventh. Duchesne members of the Hall of Fame are Ray Jensen, Grant Earl and Stan Young. Jensen was a killer from outside and Young was a speedy eager. Earl was the big power hoopster for the Eagles, who had the tough luck of having to play Wasatch in the first round. Union was the favorite to win the region title in 1969, but a young Uintah team upset the Cougars and pocketed first place. Billy Johnston and Dale Allred of the Uintah Utes are members of the Hall of Fame. Allred had a good shooting eye and Johnston was powerful in the middle. Cougar members of the Hall of Fame are guard Bob Fenn and center Jim Marshall. Manti had an awesome front line with such players at 6'9" Steve Willardsen at center and 6'5" forward Craig Nielsen and 6'3" forward Kevin Cox and they defeated the Union Cougars in the 1968 state tourney and 67 to 62 in a preseason pre-season game during the season. Union dropped out of the tourney due to a 87-67 loss to Dixie and a 75-62 setback to Cedar City. Fenn was a graceful guard who could perform magic in the back court and Marshall was an amazing center who averaged 20 points and 13 rebounds a game during Union's 23-6 season. Tabiona members of the Hall of Fame are 5'10" guard forward Dale Giles, 6' forward-centerLevaugh Gines and 6'3" center Brad Fabrizio. Hancock was a member of Union's varsity in 1968, 1969 and 1970. Hadlock will always be remembered by Union fans as the guy who put in a field goal at the buzzer, which forced the game into overtime and was won by the Utes in 1971. Harrison was a left handed scoring machine who was almost impossible to stop. Harrison scored 31 points in a game with Duchesne in 1971 on 13 field goals and five free throws. Gary Huber, a 5'8" speedster at the guard position; Garth Allred, a 6'0" forward and Larry McKinney, a 6'6" center, are 1976 Uintah members of the Hall of Fame.
