V. x , - ' , , - x - v ' L - ..- "- DOUG SHAW, as Captain VonTrapp, and Ruth Williams, as Elsa Schraeder, rehearse a musical number for Uintah High School's 'production of "The Sound of Music" to open Thursday at 7:30 p.m. High school musical opens Thursday night With opening night approaching, the cast and crew of "The Sound of Music" are in the final stages of preparation at Uintah High School. "We're scrambling scram-bling for it to come together and it's going to," said drama instructor, Claire Spencer. The cast rehearsed for nearly eight hours Saturday, and then came back for five more to paint sets, she added. "It's neattosee the cooperation and the involvement of all of the departments," Miss Spencer said. The home economics department is helping with costumes, the marketing students have taken over the business end, Curtis May, an instructor in the math department, has designed the set, Cathy Price has spent time teaching the students dance steps, the art department has painted backdrops and the music department and community orchestra are involved in the play. "I haven't seen this many different departments involved in a play for years," she commented. Doors will open at 7 p.m. with the play beginning at 7:30 p.m. Tickets will be available at the door for $2.50 for adults and $2 for students and senior citizens. The play will be presented Nov. 19, 20, 21 and 23. |
