The judges are still comparing notes and scratching their heads after twenty-three Uintah High School young ladies tried out for Harvest Ball queen. Eight of those "talented" girls were from Jensen. Denna Moon, Vickie Powell, Janet Kent, Queeda Chew, Rebecca Snow, Sharalyn and Janet Slaugh. They can't all be the queen but they admit it was fun driving a tractor, milking a cow, roping a barrel, saddling sad-dling a horse and telling the judges about farming as part of their try outs. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Peterson just returned from a trip to the west coast. They visited the Mason Petersons in Gait, Calif., then went on up the coast to Oakdale, Calif, where they visited the Morgan Gardners. A pre-Thanksgiving dinner will be held in the Cultural Hall Friday, Nov. 20 with turkey and dressing, sweet potatoes, hot rolls and plenty of pies and other goodies to whet your Thanksgiving season appeiite. |
