Utfes close season wiffh tfw shufoull Coin flips forced Uintah to stay home during the state tournament, but even though the Utes didn't compete in any post-season play they still had an outstanding season. The Utes won two games in a row during dur-ing the season, twice, and this is a feat, which hasn't been accomplished by a Ute team for a long time. Uintah posted a 500 mark of 4-4, which is the best record by a Ute team since the early 10's. However, the most amazing item this year was Uintah's strong finish in the season. In past years the Utes usually ended the season with disappointing losses, but this year it was a different story as they blanked Murray, 7-0 in overtime on October 18 and shutout Jordan, Jor-dan, 12-0, on October 24. This is probably pro-bably the first time in a long time that the Utes have ever won two shutouts in a row. ' "That just shows the pride that Uintah Uin-tah has. They are the best and they deserve the best. They showed their character with the kind of ball games they have played in the last two contests," con-tests," stated assistant coach. Ron Moore. Uintah's assistant coach, Monty Lee, remarked, "It's sad to have played everyone in Region Seven except Judge Memorial and Jordan to a tie bs in the state meet. There is il-can il-can do.
