Show Police blotter A disorderly conduct complaint was filed 10-27 at the Vernal City Police office of-fice on a white male, 24 approximately 6 feet tall weighing 175 lbs., who was loud, unruly and using profanity at JB's restaurant. He had left the premises prior to police arrival. A suspect is under investigation. Timothy C. Cordova, 19, Vernal was-arrested was-arrested 10-27 for illegal possession and consumption of alcohol. The arrest was made by Paul Parker and Dan Soelberg at 200 W. 100 So. Vernal Ave. Cordova was issued a misdemeanor citation and released. The police department answered a "fight in progress" call 10-27 at 100 So. 200 W. Investigation revealed that two parties were clashing over a family problem. The situation was calmed at the scene and no further action was taken. Between 10-26 and 28 persons unknown entered the downstairs area of the Skillet Restaurant and took $250 in cash from an unlocked office. The crime required knowledge and a key as no forced entry was noted. Investigation Investiga-tion is continuing. 10-28 Wayne R. Nickson of 232 West -100 No. Vernal reported a vehicle burglary in which three rifles valued at $400 were stolen. No forced entry was apparent, it was assumed that the pickup from which the guns were taken " was unsecured. 10-24 Jolley Chevrolet suffered a loss totaling approximately $300. Persons unknown took one truck tire, one Chev tailgate from parked cars at Jolleys. 10-27 Mike Hamner, VCPD arrested one male juvenile for illegal consumption consump-tion at 423 West Main Street. The juvenile was released to the mother. 10-25 the police department investigated in-vestigated a fight at Vernal Junior High School involving two female juveniles. The altercation, which required no first aid, still is under investigation. A family fight 10-26 turned into an assault on a third party when one of the persons implicated attempted to use a firearm on the third person. Investigation Investiga-tion is continuing. A theft of a wallet containing $107 cash at Jimbos Lounge 10-20 is under investigation. in-vestigation. According to Det. Sgt. Robert Downard the suspect has been identified and the investigation will be completed later this week. 10-26 an investigation at Jimbo's Lounge resulted in a citizen arrest against Brud C. Gardiner, 23 charged with assault. The complaint was filed by Dennie Roberts, 31 of Vernal. Two females, one juvenile and an 18 year old, Alison K. Ming were arrested and charged with shoplifting from Ashtons 10-24. The juvenile was placed in detention and Ming was released on a misdemeanor citation. 10-17 Detective Mel Curtis completed an investigation of theft and forgery at Brown and Root Construction which resulted in the arrest of Sherrill Dean Richmond, 32 of Neola. Richmond was charged with one count of forgery, a second se-cond degree felony. This carries from one to 15 year sentence in the State I'enetentiary and-or a $10,000 fine. The case has been turned over to the Uintah County attorney's office for prosecution. prosecu-tion. 10-25 two juveniles were arrested by the detective division of the Vernal City Police including Sgt. Downard, Darrell Lance and Mel Curtis after investigation investiga-tion reveaied involvement in forgery and a felony criminal mischief. The criminal mischief charge stemmed irom a aiesel truck owned by Grant Southam 285 So. 100 E. having the fuel tanks filled with sand Estimated la mage was in excess of $1100, the forgery incident was from cashing a payroll check belonging to Steven Clemet. He misplaced the check, which was found and cashed at a local grocery store. Jeff James, 18 of Vernal was also charged in the forgery case. James was incarcerated and later released on a $2500 bond. Sgt. Downard credited Lance and Curtis with solving the two forgery cases. He said they each did an excellent job. A theft of u Btereo and 23 ta:s from a vehicle belonging to Pollard Transportation Transpor-tation was reported 10-24. The vehicle was parked at 364 East Main and entered by persons unknown. The perpetrator broke and pried a window to gain entij. laken was a 41 mag. Ruger, value $180; other items valued $845 and damage estimated at $50 for a total of $1025. A burglary at Big U Distributing 10-24 netted the thieves between $800 and $1500 cash along with from six to eight cases of beer. Entry was gained by breaking a glass door with a rock. Police have identified the suspects and investigation is expected to be completed com-pleted this week. A male juvenile was arrested 10-22 in connection with shoplifting one can of spray paint and sand paper. He was referred to juvenile court and released to his parents. 10-23 Office- Joe Boren investigated a burglery at" a BLI Trailer Court residence. Suspects gained entry by prying a rear door. Four firearms were taken valued at $1335. The police have the suspects identified and anticipate arrests in the near future. 10-23 the department was alerted to an assault at Larsens Family Market. The perpertrator had left the scene before police arrived. The assault stemmed stem-med from civil action between the victim vic-tim and the suspect. Suspect has been identified and complaints are pending approval of the Vernal City attorney Richard C. Davidson. A burglary at the Maxine Mann residence, 378 E. 100 N. Vernal 10-22 resulted in a stolen AM-FM 8-track tape deck valued at $70. No forced entry could be detected. Investigation is continuing. con-tinuing. The initial investigation was by officer Dennis Clark with follow up and arrest by pfficers Dave Free and Paul Parker. There were four bike thefts over the weekend and two criminal mischief counts. 10-22 Detectives Curtis and Downard were dispatched to the Farron Wilkins residence on a theft investigation which subsequently resulted in arrest of two male juveniles. They were incarcerated in-carcerated and referred to juvenile court. |
