Show by Barbara Ekker Jeffrey Silliman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Silliman, Green River, and presently pastor of the Valley" Community Church in Richfield, has announced his candida-tacy candida-tacy for a city council post in that city. Jeffrey graduated from Green River High in 1962. He completed his schooling by obtaining obtain-ing degrees form the University Un-iversity of Utah andFul-' andFul-' ler Teological Seminary Semin-ary in Pasadena, Calif. Following graduation in 1969 he became a re-sedent re-sedent of Richfield and Pastor of the Valley Community Church, a position he still holds. He has shown an active ac-tive interest in community commun-ity affairs including efforts ef-forts to secure a new hospital for this area. He's a member of the Richfield Jaycees, served serv-ed on year as vice president, pre-sident, and is an active member of the Rotary Club. He also served as a delegate to the Republican Re-publican State Convention Conven-tion in 1972. His wife is tne tonner Connie Constnace of Salt Lake and they have one child. His running mates are Kendrick Harward, former State Senator who is seeking the mayor seat and Phil Jorgensen, owner own-er of the Richfield Coal and Oil Co. Deer season opener Saturday Sa-turday on the Henrv Mountains found hunters glore facing brisk chilling chil-ling winds and cool temperatures. Many hunters went home empty-handed after combing the thicket for the cagey ca-gey deer. Many out-of-thearea hunters were noted as well as out-of staters as well as local residents. No serious accidents ac-cidents were reported. Elmer Peterson and Ernest Bastain found that a small trailer house they had on the mountain had been stolen prior to the deer hunt. No clues toil's whefeabouts are known but Garfield County authorities au-thorities are investigating. investigat-ing. Mrs. Edna Ekker Ro-bison Ro-bison is visiting her daughter, Gladys May, in Green River and plans to go on to Denver this week and visit another daughter, daught-er, Reba Bennett, and family. Mrs! Rita Ekker and daughter, Annie, joined her husband, Larry, above Price this week where he's employed gathering ga-thering cows for AGRes-cources AGRes-cources and moving them to the San Rafael Range. Roy Ekker, Payson, joined his father and brothers for the deer hunt and remained to help gather cattle. Also joining join-ing the Ekker deer hunters hunt-ers was W.L. Hill, father of Mrs. Rae Lene Ekker, Ek-ker, who resides in Monroe, Mon-roe, a-s well as Mr. and" yivs. Hale Robison from Payson. Mrs. Phyllis Blackburn and children spent a few days with her parents, the Riter Ekkers, from Elko Nevada while her husband, Morris, was deer hunting in the Emery Em-ery area with his father, Elbert Blackburn. Airman Ferris John Hurt Jr. son of Mr. and Mrs. Ferrie Hunt, Price, and former Bicknell residents, re-sidents, has been assigned assign-ed to Lowery Air Force Base, Colorado after completing Air Force Basic Ba-sic Training. During his six w eeks at the Air Training Command's Com-mand's at Lackland AFB, Texas, he studied the Air Force Mission, organization organiza-tion and customs and received re-ceived special instructions instruc-tions in human relations. Hunt has been assigned to the Technical Training Center at Lowery of Center at Lowery for specialized spe-cialized training in armament ar-mament systems field. Airman Hunt received his education at Wayne High, an associate degree in 1972 from the college of Eastern Utah at Price. John Johnson killed a coyote near the Guy Robison Robi-son home early Monday afternoon. He spotted the animal leaving the property pro-perty as he was coming from his ranch further up the Fremont River. Numerous coyotes have been seen and have left killed sheep in the Notom area near the Durphy ranches. Leonard Zickafoose, 15 year old son of Audrea Miller Zickafoose. was rushed to the Richfield Hospital by ambulance Saturday evening after he accidentally shot himself in the leg with a .22 pistol. The accident occurred oc-curred at his home while target practicing Guy Robison drove the ambulance. ambu-lance.
