Show Duchesne County lists New Oil Completions Seven wells were completed com-pleted this week in Duchesne Du-chesne Countv flowing 12.646 barrels of oil daily, further stimulating stimulat-ing interest in Utah's oil activity according to Carlton Stowe, Utah Geological Ge-ological & Mineral Survey Sur-vey specialist. Gulf Oil finaled four wells in the Bluebell field flowing an average of 2.6S5 barrels of oil per day. Gulf's production produc-tion is from depths of below 14.000 feet. Some 2,900.000 cubic feet of gas also flowed with each well. Chevron Oil and Shell Oil also completed wells in the vicinity. The Bluebell - Alta-mont Alta-mont area is site of most active field development drilling being done in Utah. Shell Oil is drilling drill-ing or in some stages of completing 20 wells. Gulf Oil has 17, Chevron Oil is working on ten wells and Mapco is testing on nine wells. Flying Diamond Dia-mond Land & Minerals have eight wells in the field. McCulloch Oil and Diamond Shamrock Corporation Cor-poration have three wells each where work is progressing. pro-gressing. In other activity, Cotton Cot-ton Petroleum, Tulsa operator, op-erator, has started drilling drill-ing at its scheduled 9.000 foot wildcat well. ..No. 1 Bruchez, about 13 miles north of Bluebell field and located in an area where there has been very little previous exploratory ex-ploratory work. About 30 miles southeast of the town of Ouray, Texaco Inc., is waiting on com-Dletion com-Dletion equipment for attempts at-tempts to complete it's No. 1 Texaco-Skyline well. It was drilled to a total depth of 10,605 feet. Elsewhere in Utah, the Geological Survey notes oil company dilling is being done in widely scattered areas of the State. In Grand County, Anschutz Oil is drilling below 5.600 feet at two wells in the Roan Cliffs area some 60 miles north of Moab. about 25 miles northwest of the town of Harley Dome. Anschutz says the two wells are scheduled to be drilled to depths of at least 8,200 feet for possible tests. Several wells are underway in the Cisco Springs and Cisco field areas of the County. Phillips Petroleum Company is drilling below be-low 3.000 feet at a tentatively ten-tatively projected 17.500 foot test. No. 1 U.S. -P.. nine miles southeast of the town of Manti and about 25 miles northwest of the closest production found at Ferron field. The exploratory test is part of the series of wells being drilled by Phillips in central Utah along the geologically termed "Cordilleran hingeline."
