Show U-95 Prospects for Completion Are Dim, Sen. Moss Reports Federal funding on 'a I'tah State application for S4.6 million for completion comple-tion of U-95 appears to be held up until at least De cember of 1975, according accor-ding to information from the U. S. Department of Transportation. D. V. Loutzenheiser', director of the office of engineering for the Federal Fed-eral Highway Administration, Adminis-tration, explained that there are 12 priority pro- jects still remaining to be funded first. These projects were approved in April, 1972, along with S2, 650.000 for U-95 which wa funded in Oct. 1972, completing the project on that road from U-261 to Comb Wash. The requested $4.6 million would finish U-95 from Hanksville to Blanding, Blan-ding, and is considered a vital link in the road structure of Southern Utah, and backbone of Utah's Golden Circle network net-work of scenic and recreational re-creational roads. The 12 priority projects pro-jects still remaining to be completed before further fur-ther allocations can be made were authorized on April 14, 1972. They were included among 25 projects pro-jects in 20 states, of which the U-95 Comb Ridge project pro-ject was one. However, due to restrictions in the Department of Transportation Transpor-tation Appropriations Act of 1972, only $4,995,000 was immediately available avail-able of the S31.8 million authorized for all 25 projects. During fiscal 1973, the appropriations act restricted restr-icted expenditures on these projects to S12 million: mil-lion: and as of July 1, 1973. there still remained 12 projects in 12 states still unfunded, totalling an estimated S15.3 million. mil-lion.
