Show Travel Council Reprints Utah Multipurpose Maps Whether youVe a vacationing vacation-ing motorist, an outdoors-person outdoors-person or a native Utahn, the multipurpose maps now available avail-able at the Utah Travel Council Coun-cil will help you discover and enjoy more of the state. The recently reprinted recreational rec-reational maps divide the state into eight regions. In addition to the ususal road and highway classifications, they list such things as state and national parks; picnic areas; historical sites; rock hounding areas; marinas; snowmobile, jeep and hiking trails; ski areas and game reserves. The copy side of the maps contains a partial campground guide, numerous color photographs photo-graphs and a full description of the parks and recreation areas in the region. All major attractions have been assigned as-signed letter and numeral coordinate numbers for easy reference. "Travelers would have to contact a dozen different agencies to obtain all the information contained in a single map," says Milt Jolley, assistant director of the Utah Travel Council. 'The maps should increase visitor length of stay and revenue in our state by showing tourists the great recreational variety offered off-ered in each region." The new Utah multipurpose maps can be obtained from the Utah Travel Council, Utah Division of Parks and Recreation, Recre-ation, U.S. Forest Service, Department of Natural Resources Re-sources Outdoor Recreation Agency, National Park Service Ser-vice offices. Bureau of Land Management and most of Utah's nine promotional regions. re-gions. Recommended selling price is 25 cents per map. The maps were produced for the first time last year. with engineering partially funded by the Four Corners Regional Commission. |
