I During the past two weeks routine matters have kept Moab City Court busy however howev-er a number of more' serious cases were also heard: On Dec. 23 Gordon Gene Bennett appeared, originally charged with aggravated assault, as-sault, a third degree felony. On recommendation of County Attorney Bill Benge the charge was reduced to assault, a Class B misdemeanor. On advice of his attorney ' Harry Snow, he entered a plea of guilty to this charge and was sentenced to pay a $250 fine and to serve 30 days in jail, the jail sentence and half of the fine were suspended on successful completion of 6 months probation. On Dec. 27 Harry Miller and I Dale Snyder appeared on i charges of aggravated rob- j bery, a first degree felony, in 1 1 connection with,4rneident at E 3 Thompson:. After they were-1? advised of the charge and their I right to counsel they requested- same, and Harry Snow was I appointed to defend them. A I preliminary hearing was re--quested and this was set for Jan. 18. In addition, bond was set at $10,000 each. On Dec. 23 Gam L. Owens appeared on a charge of driving under the influence of intoxicants. He entered a plea of guilty and was sentenced to pay a $200 fine and in default ' of payment to serve 40 days in . ' jail. Ricky Dull appeared Dec. 27 and Edward D. Schocknmyer , appeared Dec. 29, both on j charges of driving under the influence of an intoxicating liquor. Each entered pleas of guilty and both were sentenced sentenc-ed to pay $200 fine and to serve 40 days in jail, with the jail sentence suspended on payment of the fines and successful completion of 6 month probations. Joseph Green, Provo, was cited Jan. 2 forDUI, no drivers license and speeding. He posted $240 bail and was ordered to appear for arraign- ment at 10 a.m. Jan. 3. When he failed to appear the bail was forfeited. Donald.-LeRoy Weber appeared ap-peared Jan. 3 on one charge of public intoxication and one charge of possession of a controlled substance.
